Welcome to Counting The Odds

Hi, I’m Derrick Kwa and as you can see, this is my new blog, Counting The Odds.

A bit about me. I’m a 18, coming 19, year old from Singapore. I’m a huge math geek who has taken a liking to poker in the past year. You can find out more about me here, if you wish.

I’m still trying to improve on my poker play, and that’s what this blog is going to be about. I’ll be writing about my experiences as I try and study more. I’ll be retrospectively analyzing hands that I’ve played, trying to mathematically determine the best method of play. I’ll also be reading up on strategy, watching videos, etc. and trying to analyze the math behind the strategies. Most of my focus will be on No Limit Hold’Em Cash Games, though, purely because that’s what I play most.

So basically, that’s what this blog is about. My quest to become a better poker player, using math. Because ultimately, everything is numbers.
